Stella Polaris AS
Stella Polaris AS is our largest production facility, and owns 60% of the shares in Norway Prawns AS. They produce thousands of tons IQF cooked & peeled prawns (Pandalus borealis) annually. Stella Polaris has extensive experience in manufacturing to retail chains such as Ica, Morrisons, Coop, Kesko and Inex. The company also supplies large quantities to Food Service packed under the brand names Stella Polaris and Arctic Sea.
 
The company was originally established in 1968 under the name Lenvik Fiskeindustri AS. In the start they where a fish processor, and from 1984 the production also included prawns. From 1989, all activities were concentrated on the production of IQF cooked & peeled prawns. In 2002 Lenvik Fiskeindustri AS changed name to Stella Polaris AS. Manufacturing plant and head office is located in Kårvikhamn, 26 km north of Finnsnes in Troms county.
 
The requirements for product and food safety are strict, and production takes place in modern facilities of high technological standard. The process is completely automatic using various technologies such as laser and colour sorting. A well-functioning quality team works continuous to ensure that our prawn products have the best flavor, color and texture.
 
Employees with years of experience ensures that we deliver correct products in right time to our customers. Through good routines for production planning sensures precictability and a flexible store.
 
Production of cooked & peeled prawns set high standards for quality, and Stella Polaris is certified according to BRC (British Retail Consortium) standard for production of food. BRC standard is perhaps the most demanding quality standard that exist for the production of food, and Stella Polaris undergo annual quality audit of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) to maintain the certification accoring to the BRC standard. In addition, the company are audited several times a year by their customers.
